Urea Production at NextEra Global Commerce

At NextEra Global Commerce, we produce high-quality urea using the Bosch-Meiser Process, a method that has been in use since 1922. This process combines ammonia (NH₃) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) under high pressure and temperature. The key reactions are as follows:
  1. Formation of Ammonium Carbamate: 2NH3+CO2→NH2COONH42NH₃ + CO₂ → NH₂COONH₄ First, ammonia and carbon dioxide react to form ammonium carbamate.
  2. Decomposition of Ammonium Carbamate into Urea: NH2COONH4→(NH2)2CO+H2ONH₂COONH₄ → (NH₂)₂CO + H₂O Then, ammonium carbamate decomposes into urea and water.
This process occurs at temperatures between 180-200°C and at pressures around 150 bar. Afterward, we purify and dehydrate the resulting liquid urea to produce solid urea.
